Romulus rounded off a good first week of the season with a clinical display that saw them beat visitors Kidsgrove 4-0 at Coles Lane.Roms signalled their intent early on and Marcus Brown should have scored very early on after outpacing the visitors defence but he took too long to get his shot away and the chance came to nothing.Kidsgrove have got some experienced players but Roms pace and movement troubled them at times and after a couple of close shaves from set pieces it was no surprise when they took the lead.Marcus Brown was the provider as he wriggled free on the right and his pinpoint cross was headed home by Tom Turton in the 26th minute to make it 1-0.This goal sparked Roms into life and within 2 minutes they had doubled their lead as Darius Darkin played Tyron Amory in and he fired home from just inside the area.It got even better in the 34th minute as Marcus Brown scored the goal of the game with a great bit of skill by the byline that left the Kidsgrove defender in his wake and he finished in style with a ferocious strike that gave the visitors keeper no chance. In a devastating 8 minute spell Roms had scored three times and also hit the woodwork on a couple of occasions and it was a pity the half had to end as its a rarity to be 3-0 up at half time in this league.

Roms were mindful that they hadn't won the game yet, and although they had to make a few changes throughout the second half due to injury, they continued to play the right way and added to their tally in the 70th minute when Tyron Amory slotted in his second to make it 4-0.Kidsgrove to their credit kept going to the end but Roms stuck at their task and showed great desire to keep a clean sheet as the visitors looked to stage a late rally.Thankfully for Romulus they saw the game out with few problems and were worthy winners after an excellent team performance.
