Leading at the interval by a single goal, the visitors from Yorkshire scored three goals in eight second-half minutes to seal the victory.
Kidsgrove Athletic manager Ryan Austin handed four players debuts as Max Murphy, Charlie Scott and James Jennings, all started. While Kingsley Adu Gyamfi made his debut coming off the bench.
It was just six minutes on the clock when the visitors took the lead as Scott Ruthven was able to evade the attentions of the defenders and beat Kieran Harrison.
Just three minutes later and Harrison had to be at full stretch to deny Josh Nodder from making 2-0.
The Grove grew into the game slowly and, Scott should have equalised on 26 minutes when the ball fell to him from a corner. However, his effort was cleared off the line by Jordan Lemon.
At the interval Austin made two changes bringing off Scott and Jennings for Rhys Thompson and Gyamfi.
The changes did seem to have a positive impact for the Grove as for 20 minutes of that second half, they were the better side. Gyamfi showed glimpses of what he can do. While Thompson headed over a free-kick from Lee Williamson.
However, with 15 minutes to go and the Steels went 2-0 up when Luke Mangham was played in and slotted the ball into the corner of the goal.
Less than 60 seconds later and, it was 3-0 and a carbon copy of the second goal when Mangham went through again and, scored again. At 2-0 there was always a chance of the Grove getting back into the game. However, at 3-0 down it was game done and dusted.
The result was confirmed with eight minutes to go when Lewis Whitham found the goal from an acute angle.
Diskin had a chance on 87 minutes. However, he blazed over the bar, which summed up the Grove's day.
Things can only get better for the Grove and, we make the trip to Leek Town on Tuesday for El Staffico. The game is a 7.45 pm kick-off.
