Following a successful 2018/19 season, which included a top 10 finish in the league, first-team manager Ryan Austin has been working hard to strengthen his squad ahead of the 2019/20 Northern Premier League season

With eight new signings ahead of tomorrow's big kick-off against Stockbridge Park Steels, we profile each one of the new lads.

James Butler- Defender
19-year-old centre half who has joined the club on a permanent basis following his release from Stoke City. Spent much of last season on loan here at the Autonet Stadium, where his performances also earned him a loan move to Hartlepool. A old fashioned type of defender.

Max Murphy – Defender
Joined the club on loan from Stoke City until January. Reports from Stoke City say Max is very good defensively and early signs show he’s not too shabby going forward.

Charlie Scott- Midfielder
Former Manchester United under 23 midfielder who was released at the end of the 2017/18 season. Made 2 appearances whilst on loan for Hamilton in the Scottish Premier League. Charlie has aspirations to return to the pro game and hopefully, Grove can be his springboard to achieve that.

Jimmy Phillips- Midfielder
Skilful Wideman signed in the summer from Mickleover. Certainly, has a trick or two. Formerly with Gateshead and more notably Burton Albion where he made 137 appearances for the Brewers.

Kingsley Gyamfi- Forward
Young forward signed in the close season after netting an incredible 60 goals in local football for Silverdale Athletic. Pacey forward with an incredible work ethic. Definitely a player for the future.

Ruben Wiggins-Thomas- Forward
Experienced much-travelled and prolific goal scorer. Signed following a recent move to the area. Spent much of last season on loan at Long Eaton having previously topped the goalscoring charts at Carlton Town, Basford United & Belper Town.

Tyler Savage- Forward
The 18-year-old flying winger signed following impressive performances in pre-season. Played previously for Abbey Hulton United having progressed through their youth ranks.

James Jennings- Forward
18-year-old forward signed on loan from Stoke City. Had short spell on loan at Market Drayton last year.
