France is hoping for an injury free season

Tom France has a few aims for both himself and the team when football returns following the Coronavirus pandemic.

However, no one can begrudge him of his personal aim to complete the season without any injuries.

For the past two years, it's been torture for the midfielder. He suffered an ACL injury in 2017 before returning to action in late 2018, only for him to sustain another ACL injury away to Skelmersdale United in December, which ruled him out for a further 12 months.

He said: "One of my main aims is to have an injury free season.

"This will be my first pre-season in a while, so I've been doing some fitness work to keep a baseline fitness level.

"On a personal note, I want to have a good season and stay injury free, while for the club we must be aiming for the playoffs and have a good cup run to see where it will take us."

Kidsgrove will go into the new season under the management of club legends Scott Dundas and Anthony Buckle, both who previously played for the club back in the 90s.

It will be a new test for France who has never played under Dundas or Buckle before in his career.

He said: "I'm looking forward to the challenge. I'm going into my fourth season with the club, but it will be my first playing under Scott Dundas and Anthony Buckle.

"I'm looking forward to getting pre-season underway. I am sure they will be working us hard, but I'm looking forward to getting started.

"Whenever I've come up against one of Scott's teams, they have been well organised and worked hard.

"They do the right things and play in the right areas, so that is something I'm looking forward to as well. I'm looking forward to learning their style of play, and it will be a new challenge for myself."
