Flynn, who started Saturday's match against Goole joined the club last November when manager Pete Ward returned to the club to save them from relegation.
The former Welsh U21 international played for Crewe, Stafford Rangers, Northwich Victoria and Nantwich Town in his career to name some of his clubs.
Flynn announced the decision on Twitter earlier today, "@KidsgroveAth all the best for the season! I've decided to spend more time on my business. Great club with some really decent people!"
Manager Pete Ward said, "I'm disappointed to lose Chris of course, but I completely understand his reasons for doing so and wish him all the best with his business.
"He helped us to survive last season and was a crucial part of the spine of the team."
