1) Tamworth FC was formed in 1933 when London based businessman Michael Flowers moved to the area and was concerned at the lack of a football team in his new home. After a months worth of negotiations, the club was born.
2) In arguably their most high profile signing of all time, Paul Merson had a brief stint with The Lambs in 2006. He was only with the club for two match days before announcing his retirement.
3) Tamworth was the home of ‘The H Bombers’ a famous non-league strike-force who dominated in the early 2000’s. The duo consisted of Mark Hallam and Warren Haughton, with the former bagging 44 goals in 55 games in 2000.
4) Tamworth are called the ‘Lambs’ due to the fact they play at The Lamb Ground; which in turn was named after a nearby pub called the Lamb Inn.
5) For a while, Tamworth was split in two! The town had two town halls where meetings took place, with half the town situated in Staffordshire and the other half in was in Warwickshire.
